Oops, sorry if I didn't tell you I was leaving for the weekend. Anyone who tried to IM me found out (and apparently, it was just Mary and Umi. I told Laur before I left because she was clinging and Laura because I was RP-ing with her. And Alex because he called) I took off for Las Vegas with my family for the weekend. Because apparently my life is lacking somehow because I haven't seen Las Vegas. O.O
Drove in Friday night, ate at In-N-Out, and wandered around Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. Nice hotels. I like wandering. It's nice. Though after a while it hurt my feet.
Saturday we ate breakfast... at someplace with eggs. o.o Then we went to the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace (and saw the talking statues), the Venetian, and Excalibur. ^_^ I like the Venetian. We also drove past the Wynn several times... which, by the way, is freaking gorgeous. Anyway, we wandered. Yes. Through lots and lots of shops. FAO Schwarz is so much fun. I'm such a kid, I loved plush toys and board games. And three COACH stores is waaaaay too many for me.
If my family (or I) could afford it, I would really enjoy Las Vegas. Especially the shows. Avenue Q, Hairspray, and Mamma Mie are all either showing or will be soon at various hotels. And then there's the Blue Man Group at the Venetian, and Celine Dion is at Caesar's. Anyway, back to the brief summary of my weekend.
Ate the dinner buffet at Mandalay Bay. ^_^ FOOOOOOOOD. You wouldn't believe how much I ate. And, surprisingly enough, I didn't make myself sick. Which is good. Lots of cocktail shrimp, crab legs, sushi, and scallops. I also had prime rib, lamb, expensive cheese, lox... and all kinds of other things I'm not going to mention, because then you'll all know how much I can eat. Oh, and desserts. I CANNOT forget the desserts. Eclairs, cream puffs, little cake things... Mmmmm...
Later that night we walked to Fremont to see the Fremont Experience and wander around the little booth things, which is where I got Amelia her writing-on-rice necklace. ^_^ After that (since it was cold) we went back to the hotel and watched the end of Road to Perdition and Bad Boys. I have a feeling I've got the order wrong on that, that we watched one before we went out to Fremont...
This morning we woke up really late and ate the brunch buffet at Main Street, then drove once more down the Strip. After that we stopped at South Coast just to see, which is an awesome place. Casino, hotel, bowling alley, theatre complex... Damn. And there were some good movies showing, too. Including Brokeback Mountain and Walk the Line.
Then we drove home in the massive amounts of traffic. I missed my yearbook meeting, but I made it just in time to go to see A Man For All Seasons for my Political Theory class. More was awesome. I want to read Utopia now.
But I'm hungry. And I need some sleep before Japanese at 8 tomorrow...

If someone hadn't stolen that one camera that my grandmother had bought for my parents (because I didn't yet have my own) I'd have put some of the pictures up.
They said that the Fremont Experience was awesome... they went to the Shark Reef. They also managed to find Madame Tussaud's wax museum. (Which they said freaked them out just a little).
I think they stayed at Treasure Island in the hotel there. They really enjoyed it... and I hope you did as well. ^_^

We drove past Treasure Island a few times... but we stayed downtown at the Cal.
